Even you have designed a very beautiful affiliate website, with a professional hosting company, and use an integrated payment processing system, it will be useless until you know that your site is working and accessible. You will need to test, test, and keep testing again. Testing a website is a long task but it's the most important task of all. There are some steps to testing, and all of them are very important. There are several steps that every webmasters should done before they launch their site.
Visual testing is the first step to be checked by webmasters. Try to check that the site looks as it is intended to. This include checking the graphic integration, and confirming that the site looks good. You should access every page carefully and make sure each page look the same, you should test under different screen resolution and color depths.
Another important task is functionality testing. This one is should never be missed. Functionality testing includes an assessment of every aspect of the site where scripting or code is involved. Search every dead links, test every forms and scripts. Check your payment processing system completely and throughly. You don't want to have your potential customer to get stuck and leave the site when they found something wrong with the payment proccessing.
Content proofing should removes any errors in your content. Make sure your site has a professional appearance. Read again all the text in your site and check for spelling and grammatical errors. Ask someone to read your copy and review it with critics and suggestion. Make sure that you delivered the right message through your copy.
The last step is check the system and browser compatibility. Test several pages from your site using different browser such as internet explorer, firefox, and opera. This is important. If your site does not work with firefox, firefox's users will end up leaving your site.
