Internet business always starts with a host. Host is a server which provide a land for your website on the internet. A host will contain all of the files that are needed to run your website. You can't keep your web site's file on your computer, because that would mean users from all around the world will have to connect directly to your computer to see your website. It's not a good idea because it wouldn't be secure and it would make your machine run so slow.
Using a host, you can upload all of your files to the server, and let the users to connect to that server to access your website. It lets the site run faster and allows it to have all the security. Selecting a good host is very important towards building your internet business. Hosting services and companies vary from the free ones, shared servers to large scale dedicated machines.
Your choice will depend on how much money do you want to spend, and what is the plan for your business in the future. If you want to run a commercial sites, don't use any free hosting. Most of free hosting gives you many annoying pop-ups every time you open your website. It's almost impossible to get a rank in search engine, and you won't have your professional URL. Usually, free hosting is also slow and unstable.
Try to find a professional hosting like godaddy or lunarpages and choose a good package for you to start with. If you don't have enough money yet, start with a cheap hosting using smaller package, and upgrade after your business begins to bring in a money. If you running an affiliate marketing business, you won't need a big space for your website.
Beside a professional hosting provider, make sure you have an email with your domain name. It will make you look more professional and you will get more credibility from your customers.
