AIDA
AIDA - Attention, Interest, Desire, Action is at the core of many affiliate internet marketing web pages. Grab the attention of the readers as quickly as possibly, get them interested by letting them know the product you're selling is going to help them, turn their interest into a compelling desire and finally get them to take action and buy! ADIA is a simple formula that has stood the test of time. The challenge is to make it work for you.
Headlines
The headline is the way that you're going to grab the readers attention. Your headline has to stand out and make them want to read on. You've only got a few seconds, so make it good. Writing headlines is an art in itself, leading copywriters will spend hours getting the headline right.
One of the best ways to learn how to write good headlines is to do some research for yourself. Look at other people's headlines and ask yourself - does this one grab me? If not why not? If it does why? Key things that make compelling headlines are: a strong emotional response such as curiosity or the reader can see a great benefit for themselves.
Action
The next thing I think about is what do I want my readers to do? Is it click on a link to the product sales page? Or is it click on a link to buy from my page? The action you want the readers to take should be at the bottom of your sales page. You need to make it clear what you want them to do and what is going to happen when they do it. People want clarity when they are taking action so you've got to give it to them. They may also need encouragement to overcome that last little bit of resistance, for example you can offer a guarantee.
Interest and Desire
Once you've captured your reader, and you know what you want them to do, it's the job of the rest of the page to get them interested and arouse enough desire that they're going to take action. You're going to need to maintain the excitement that grabbed them in the first place, build on it and get them to the point where they overcome their sales resistance and are ready to buy your product.
Writing the body of your web page takes a lot of skill and perseverance. It's very likely that you are going to have to work at developing the writing skills that are needed to be successful in this area. One of the great benefits of affiliate internet marketing is that you can start by referring your readers to a product sales page so your page doesn't have to do so much work. As time goes on you can gradually build up your skills.
